OSD Displays Releases New 7.6-in. AMOLED Display Module

Winter Park, FL. OSD Displays has announced a new 7.6-in. diagonal 800 x 600 (SVGA) active-matrix OLED module, its largest and highest resolution AMOLED product to date. Intended applications include industrial controls panels, medical monitors, and high-end consumer products such as GPS and digital photo frames.

In devices that operate on batteries, a low-power display panel is very desirable. Power consumption for this technology is typically 30% to 50% less than similar sized TFT-LCDs. Since OLEDs are self-emissive, no backlight is required and power is dissipated only for driver logic functions and by the actual pixels being illuminated.

Recently released for mass production, the panel boasts a temperature-independent response time of less than 50us across its entire operating temperature range. The module's contrast ratio is better than 10000:1 and it is unaffected by light leakage due to viewing angle limitations.
