Seoul Semiconductor Launches Z-Power LED Z1 Series

Seoul, Korea; April 9, 2009. Seoul Semiconductor Co., a global LED maker, has announced the new Z1 series of Z-Power LEDs. The Z1 series, intended for general illumination lighting products, produces output comparable to existing 100 lm LEDs at a cost of about 30% less, according to the manufacturer.

The Z1 series includes the NZ10150 (warm-white version) and the WZ10150 (pure- or cool-white version) with luminous flux of up to 95 lm and 125 lm respectively, and typical luminous flux of 80 lm and 105 lm, respectively. The body of the Z1 is primarily ceramic, which allows for high heat conductivity.

The new LEDs can be used in both interior and exterior lighting fixtures and appliances. Other applications for the Z1 series include surface-emitting applications such as signs and displays. The LEDs are about 1.2mm thick and are designed to offer a brighter light source at high temperatures for an extended timeframe without sacrificing reliability.

Seoul Semiconductor's primary business areas are LED packaging and custom module manufacturing. Applications for the company's LED products include general lighting, signage, back lighting for mobile phones, TVs, notebook computers, automotive lighting, home appliances, signals, and more.
