Sharp to Launch World's Thinnest LCD TV

Sharp Corp. has announced it will introduce 16 new G-Series AQUOS liquid-crystal display (LCD) TV models ranging in sizes from 26 - 52 in. featuring the industry's thinnest profile of 8.1 cm.The light-weight models are particularly well suited for wall mounting, the company said.

According to company information, all models use the Advanced Super View LCD Panel to reproduce smooth pictures even with fast-motion images, and to strengthen picture quality, design, audio quality, and environmental performance.

All models in this G Series feature a new compact design with a slimmer profile of 8.1 cm, the industry's thinnest, and offer a "small footprint with a big screen," Sharp said, giving consumers more space-saving options. For example, a 52-in. model can be installed in the same width as Sharp's previous 43V-in. LCD TV model, giving the user approximately 10 inches more in screen size.

All models feature high definition, fast response times, wide viewing angles, and a "living room" contrast of 900:1 (dark room contrast ratio of 2000:1) that reproduces crisp, clear, vivid pictures with pure, velvety blacks even in bright living room environments, the company said.
