3DIcon Launches Pixel Precision
TULSA, Okla. - 3DIcon Corp., a development-stage technology company, has launched its software product, Pixel Precision, targeting the research and development market for Texas Instruments' DLP technology.
The provisional patent application covering Pixel Precision was filed on January 29, 2007. Sales channels for the product will include software distributors as well as direct sales by 3DIcon.
"We now have a software product that is fully developed and ready for sale this quarter," said Martin Keating, 3DIcon's chairman and CEO, said in a press statement. "This has come as a byproduct of the 3D research under our sponsored research agreement at the University of Oklahoma (OU). Pixel Precision is proof that a portfolio of revenue-generating products and technologies is beginning to flow from our research efforts at OU."
"We believe that sales into the DLP technology application development market will benefit 3DIcon by creating fertile ground for potential strategic partnerships, co-development, or technology sales and transfers to and from other leaders in projection and 3D technologies," added 3DIcon president Vivek Bhaman.
3DIcon expects its new product to address the needs of a market that includes projection and display manufacturers that design, manufacture, and market products based on DLP technology.
Pixel Precision interfaces with Texas Instrument's DMD Discovery line of products as well as DMD Discovery with ALP, to enable precise control over individual DMD pixel elements, eliminating the need for tedious programming efforts, 3DIcon said.
