3M Introduces New Film for LCD TVs

ST. PAUL, MN, January 16. 3M recently launched a new optical film for LCD TVs. According to the company, its Vikuiti Dual Brightness Enhancement Film (DBEF) D3 300 can reduce power consumption in LCD TVs by up to 37% without sacrificing image quality. Vikuiti DBEF D3 300 increases brightness by recycling polarized light. It also enhances viewing angle and uniformity, eliminating the need for a diffuser sheet, and therefore reducing the overall bill of materials.

3M's Vikuiti films are designed to enhance the energy efficiency of current electronic devices without sacrificing display performance.
