SID and DisplaySearch Announce Final Agenda for Display Week Business Conference
Campbell, CA. and Austin, TX; May 18, 2009. The Society for Information Display (SID), the leading global organization dedicated to the advancement of electronic display technology, and DisplaySearch, the worldwide leader in display market research, today announced the final agenda for its upcoming Business Conference, which will be held on Monday June 1, during the 47th annual SID International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition, dubbed Display Week 2009, in San Antonio, Texas.
"After years of double digit growth, flat panel display revenues stalled in 2008 and will fall dramatically in 2009, so it is more important than ever to examine the commercialization process, which provides the seeds for future industry growth," noted Paul Semenza, senior vice president of DisplaySearch. "This year's Business Conference will feature an impressive line-up of presentations and roundtable discussions among the industry's best and brightest surrounding strategies for success in display commercialization."
The Business Conference keynote presentations will be from Thomas Holder, investment director for Intel Capital on "Win/Win Strategic Investing in Displays: What I've Learned," and Mary Lou Jepsen, founder and CEO of Pixel Qi on "Making the Case: The Display Industry's Chance to Evolve in the Downturn." Following the keynotes, DisplaySearch's Paul Semenza will provide an industry outlook in "Display Market Overview: Growth After the Market Resets?"
Business Conference attendees will also hear case studies on the challenges and opportunities of commercialization of display technologies as well as different business models used in the industry. These sessions include the following:
Crossing the Chasm: Perspectives on Commercialization

Enhancing TFT-LCD: Touch and Other Features
A key aspect to display-related commercialization is building on the "platform" of existing display technologies, while focusing on adding value and functionality to the display. Company representatives from touch screen and other feature companies will discuss the issues involved in participating in the display value chain.
