LatinDisplay 2009 to be Held in São Paulo, November 16 to 19
Campinas, Brazil. LatinDisplay 2009, the Southern Hemisphere's premier display technology conference, will be held at the Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP) in São Paulo, Brazil, November 16 - 19, 2009.
Continuing the tradition of its predecessors. LatinDisplay 2009 will provide its participants with opportunities to experience and discuss state-of-the-art electronic displays and related technologies such as image processing, systems software, display processing hardware, human factors and applied vision. Among the highlights will be multimedia and electronic cinema, as well as technologies closely related to displays, such as touch screens, solar cells, solid-state lighting, organic electronics, batteries, and nanotechnology.
"I expect that, as in previous years, LatinDisplay 2009 will be a forum for discovery and continue to foster business connections and cooperation," said LatinDisplay chairman Victor Mammana.
LatinDisplay's single-track format, punctuated with coffee and exhibition breaks, fosters technical cross-fertilization and international networking in a collegial environment. Speakers include Margarida Baptista (Brazilian Development Bank), Norbert Chien (Kaiser Permanente), Adi Abileah (Planar), Gabriel Marcu (Apple), Gopalan Rajeswaran (Moserbaer), Manju Rajeswaran (Kodak), Vladimir Chigrinov (Univ. of Hong Kong), Jean-Noel Perbet (Thales Avionics), Ken Werner (Nutmeg Consultants), and Pedro Alem (ABDI).
A Rodada de Oportunidades -- the Business Opportunities Roundtable -- will focus on the business potential of medical displays and medical information systems. The Rodada, which features representatives of the global technical community, the Brazilian financial community, and the Brazilian government, has been a successful and influential element of LatinDisplay over the past several years.
The conference will consist of the scientific and technical Symposium, business meetings, a technical exhibition, meetings of some of the supporting organizations, and a DisplayEscola (Display School) on November 19.
LatinDisplay 2009 is sponsored by the Latin American Chapter of the Society for Information Display, the Brazilian Network for Displays, and the Ibero-American Network for Displays), and is organized by Associação Brasileira da Indústria Eletro-Eletrônica (ABINEE), Associação Brasileira de Informática (ABINFO), Centro de Tecnologia da Informação Renato Archer (CTI), Pontifícia Universidade Católica de S.
